We live in a perfect house
A husband his children and wife
A picture from a chocolate box
A portrait of idyllic life
The face that they'll never see
In our family photographs
Haunts your every waking hour
You live in the shadow she casts

The perfect life enhanced
A one way looking glass

Everybody knows
Everybody sees
Everyone believes
But me

You must never see
What I see when I close my eyes
Words could never describe
The seriousness of the lie
And now fate has forced my hand
I'm counting the days and not years
Time has dealt a mortal blow
You learn what you hold most dear

I seen my life come and go
Went along with the flow

Everybody knows
Everybody sees
Everyone believes
But me

An owl calls my name out twice
A dog howls by the window payne
The clock strikes a dozen times
And I finally call out her name
